THE WORLD IS A SOURCE OF VANITY
VERSE NO. 19-20
The argument about the true believers and their rewards is continued here, saying:-
``Those who believe in Allah and His Messengers, they are the truthfuls and witnesses in the sight of their Lord.''
The witnesses are generally considered to be the martyrs, but it cannot be that alone. All the believers who carry the banner of truth against all sorts of falsehood, are the witnesses. The means which they use in their dangerous position may be a shield and sword, a pen and a paper, or an expressive speech or a good deed. All of them will have their due rewards in the kingdom of God.
The Arabic ``KOFFAR'' in the verse No. 20 does not mean disbeliever as usual. KOFR means covering something, be it covering a seed in the soil, as a farmer may do. Therefore, the word, ``KOFFAR'' here denotes a farmer who sows a seed in the soil. Those who are in love with the transient and fleeting of life such as; plays, amusement, showing off, and self-glorification, or Amassing wealth, and increasing children. But soon will they find them all withered and dried and eventually crumbled to pieces. In the sight of a true believer, it is the spiritual harvest that remains for him and is enduring.
