WHO GIVES YOU FLOWING WATER?
VERSE NO. 28-30
The unbelievers of Mecca cursed our prophet for despising their idols. They eagerly were longing for his death, that they thought it could give an end to Islam's problem. Of course, they were wrong because it was proved that even if the prophet and all the believers and good doers on the earth were to die, still the sins of the sinners would bring on their sufferings and trap them in the calamities that their hands earned, and nothing could ward it off:-
``Say if Allah should destroy me and all those who are with me, or have His Mercy on us, who then can protect the unbelievers from the painful consequences of their evil deeds?''
The ending of this chapter, (verse NO. 30) refers to one of the most important favours of God, to which our life and being depends; and that is the pure, clean flowing water that we drink:-
``Say:-`If in a morning you found your drinking water to have sunk, who can bring you a flowing water?''
With regard to the above verse RUMI, has related an incident which has become very famous in our literatures, Rumi says:-
A believer was reciting the above verse (NO. 30) to a non-believer, and asked him what would he do if so could happen?
The unbeliever said:-
``I will take a pick and shovel, and dig a well, and pull the water out.''
That very night, the unbeliever slept... and dreamt that someone came down to him and stroke some thing upon his eyes and said:-
``O.K.! I took the water out of your eyes! You then try to get it back by your pick and shovel.''
Next morning, when the unbeliever waked up, he found his eyes dried and had been utterly blind. All the water that was in his eyes had been strained. He then knew what a poor creature was he.
