Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 06)
Verses 33-41Verses 42-49

OCCASION OF REVELATION
VERSE NO. 33-41
The famous commentators namely: TABARSI,ZAMAKHSHARI, KASHAF AND FAKHR RAZI, have all narrated that:-
OTHMAN was very rich and gave a lot of his wealth to the poor and needy in charity.
One of his relatives named ABDULLAH-IBN-SAAD, told him:-
``If you continue giving your wealth that way, sooner or later you will be destitute and needy yourself.'' OthmÌn said:-I am giving what I have to please Allah that He may forgive me my sins. Abdullah said:-If you give me the camel which is your mount, I will take upon myself all the sins that you have so far committed.
OTHMAN, gave him his camel, and took witness on that agreement, and hence forth stopped giving any sum in charity. Then the above verse were sent down to reproach OthmÌn for that.
EVERY ONE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS OWN DEEDS
``Have you seen him who turned his back, and gave a little in charity (a CAMEL), and then stopped;because he thought that another can bear the burden of his sins.''
In the above verses, there are three principles that are common with those in the old testaments, namely:-
A:-Everyone is responsible for his own deeds.
B:-The share of anyone in the next world is the outcome of his strife in this world.
C:-Allah will recompense everyone with due compensation for his deeds.
As to the Divine Book of Abraham, nothing is presently at hands, but Islamic tradition state that Allah has sent down one hundred and fourteen Scriptures to His apostles and Messengers, among which ten Books were sent down to the Shaikh of Prophets Hazrat Abraham, peace be on him.
