THE FIVE COMMANDS
VERSE NO. 23-26
QurÌn was revealed to the Messenger of God gradually, at the occasion of demands.
This Sureh was revealed at one of the earlier stages when the prophet and his disciples were persecuted, and false charges were being levelled against them. Here, through the above verses our prophet and his companions have been advised to stand firm and with patience in their cause of truth.
In the above passage, five instructions are given to the prophet and his companion by which they may overcome their difficulties. These are as follows:-
1-They are called to be steadfast and to stand firm in the cause of truth.
2-To avoid being compatible and coexisting in harmony with non-believers and sinners.
3-To glorify and forget not the name of their Lord God.
4+5-And in a long part of the night perform the prayer and worship Allah.
