Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 06)
Verses 24- 26Verses 27- 30

INTERCESSION TOO IS WITH HIS PERMISSION
VERSE NO.24-26
The argument still follows the superstitions of the Pagan Arabs by applying to their far expectation and vain desires saying:
``Can Man attain all that he wishes?''
Or else, is it possible for these lifeless and worthless material bodies (your idols) to intercede with God on behalf of you. Whereas the angel's intercession too avails nothing without the permission of God.
This is because everything in this world, as well as in the Hereafter, lays in the hands of God.
The above verses also attract the attention of man to his Lord with regard to his wishes, which are not attainable for him without the aid of God.
Most of our hearts' desires are dictated by devils. The true source of inspiration and goodness is Allah, who is the origin and destination of whatever that moves in the existance. All powers and all lights are taken from God. Therefore, through His loving care and Mercy, God lets not the man alone who is apt to fall in the abyss of his vain desires. So he cannot attain whatever he wishes:-
``Can Man attain whatever he wishes?''
Of course, the answer is ``NO'' because many of our desires will lead us loss and perdition. In this extensive universe, Allah looks after and controls everything with His Infinite knowledge and wisdom; and whatever exists belongs to Him. When Hazrat Imam Ali (AS) was asked how did you know your Lord? He said:-``I recognized Allah by His abrogating decisions and breaking the wills.''
