Verses 38-48Verses 49-56

WHY ARE YOU IN HELL?
VERSE NO. 38-48
The argument still goes on about the sinners and inhabitants of Hell, saying:-
``Every soul is held in pledge of his own deeds.''
Then, the companions of the right hand have been declared to be exceptional. They are the righteous believers whose record of deeds will be given to their right hand.
They too may have some evil deeds in their record but their good conduct exceeds their bad ones and according to QurÌn, (S-11:114); Good deeds will blot out the bad ones.
Man is responsible for his own conducts, and his redemption depends on the Grace of God, whether He forgives him his sins, or raises an intercessor to intercede with God on their behalf. So, Man should always strive hard by means of right conduct, and meanwhile ask for God's help, so as to become one of the companions of the right hand, who are favoured in the life to come.
Then, a small part of the story of the two opposite party has been narrated:-
``The inhabitants of Paradise will ask the inhabitants of the Hell:``Who brought you into the Fire?'' And they answer:-
``We were not performing the prayer, and abstained from giving the alms-tax to the poor and needy. And after all, we used to deny the Hour until death overtook us and certainty came to us. But it was too late for taking any useful steps.''
The Hour that brings certainty to Man is usually taken to be death.
