Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 06)
Verses 1-6Verses 7-10

OCCASION OF REVELATION
VERSE NO. 1-6
Our prophet went to preach the people of TAEF, a nearby town around Mecca; but he was rudely rejected, and compelled to return back.
In this way to Mecca, he reached a place that was called, ``THE VALLEY OF JINN''. It was then the late night, and the prophet decided to stay there till the sun rise. So, he made himself busy with rehearsal of some of the QuÌnic verses.
A group of Jinns listened to the recital, and went back to other Jinns preaching Islam! They said to their fellow creatures:-``We heard a wonderful Quran, that has been sent down after Moses.''

WHAT ARE THE JENNIES?

Jennies are found in Arabic folklore and Islamic traditions, as supernatural creatures having magical power. They are intelligent beings like mankind. Man has been originated from earth, but Jinn has been created from Fire, and the angels from light.
Similar to Mankind, some of the jennies are believers, and some of them are non-believers.
Some men from among mankind used to seek help or refuge in men of Jinn; because they were of opinion that Jinnies have the ability to influence mortal affairs either for good or for evil. In fairy tales occasionally the Jinni is depicted as a slave in temporary bondage to a human master.
Jinns, like Man, have wisdom, understanding, duties and responsibilities. They can use words, and know its meaning.
