BELIEVERS FOLLOW THE TRUTH
VERSE NO.1-3
The above three verses form a prelude to the coming fourth one, which includes the important commandment on JIHAD,(SACRED FIGH).
The first verse refers to the condition of the non-believers. The second verse describes some advantages of the believers, and third one is a comparison of the two parties and a conclusion too, which prepares the believers for the doctrine of sacred fighting against the cruel oppressive people:-
``Those who disbelieved and barred people from the way of Allah, their acts are rendered ineffective.''
Here the immediate reference is to the chiefs and leaders of disbelief and blasphemy in Mecca, who barred people from joining the Messenger of God, and obtaining salvation.
They sacrificed many camels during the incident of BADR, to feed people, but Allah reduced their gifts to nothing and their thousands were defeated by a few hundred of ill-equipped believers!
This was because Allah is the source of all powers and every success. If some through their ignorance or faithlessness try to bar people from what Allah wants them to do, the intruders to Allah's will and way shall fail, and whatever they do, it will come to nothing!
Then the argument drives towards the believers who are opposite to the said unbelievers in all aspects, for being the followers of truth.
The unbelievers adhere to falsehood. False is their imagination, trickeries, superstitious fables, vain and aimless works, and in particular, their deviation from the Law of nature.
In the world of beings, nothing has been created in vain, and without an aim and object. We must know that the heavens and earth are not the play-toy of the All-knowing Creator.
The Arabic, ``BALA HOM'' translated to their, ``AFFAIRS'' has several shades of meanings such as: condition, work affair, heart, and etc.
Here, we construe it to mean; the most important condition of man whether external or internal - in this material life or in the life to come; both of the meanings apply well. It is to say Allah will pave the way for the righteous to love and follow the truth more and more.
By the word, ``PARABLE'' a short fictitious narrative is meant from which a moral or spiritual truth is drawn. Parables and similitudes help to teach complex spiritual lessons more clearly. In the Quran use is made of parables in many instances, and in the Gospel too, we see that Jesus Christ taught his wisdom with parables.
