Verses 24-30Verses 31-37

ABRAHAM'S GUESTS
VERSE NO.24-30
The honoured guests of Abraham were angels, who appeared to him in the guise of men, and saluted to him. Abraham returned their greetings, but soon apprehended from their unusual manner that they were not ordinary strangers, particularly when he offered them to serve food, and they refused to touch it; he was a little afraid. In fact they had rejected Abraham's kindness and entertainment, which means that they wanted to show themselves free from all sorts of obligations. This made Abraham to distrust them.
They soon showed their identity and introduced themselves to Abraham as the Messenger of his Lord.
The angels were in their way to the people of Lot, in order to punish them for their heinuous sins; among which was homosexuality. When Abraham was comforted and relaxd, they gave him the glad-tiding of God's favour in granting them a son, endowed with knowledge and wisdom!
A son in that ald age of him and his old and barren wife?! When his wife, SARA , heard of that she was excited with joy and wonder!! Then she smote her face and said :-
``How can a barren old woman as I am, give brith to a child?''
The angels told her :-``So has said your Lord, who is ALL-Wise,All-knowing?''
