Verses 14-17Verses 18-28

SIN IS A RUST UPON THE HEARTS!
VERSES NO.14-17
Once again Quran refers to the origin of their rebellion that is their sins rusted upon their hearts.
We read in a narration from the Prophet (SA): When a servant sins, a dark point appears on his heart. If he repents and desists the sin, his heart is polished. But if he continues it, the darkness is increased so much that it covers thoroughly his heart. The above verse refers to this reality.
The most painful punishment for the sinners is being debarred from the spiritual visit of their Lord, while presence at His proximity is the highest blessing and the sweetest favor for the righteous.
Entry to the hell fire is the result of being debarred from the mercy of God, but surely fire of deprivation from His visit is much more burning than the hell fire.
Then, they are rebuked and blamed for their denial. This is a spiritual punishment and torment for this obstinate group.
