Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 06)
Verses 12-15 Verses 16-20

EVERYTHING OBEDIENTLY WANDERS FOR YOU
VERSE NO.12-15
The Glorious Quran, which is an excellent guidance, makes a distinction between right and wrong, good and evil. It lightens the front of Man in the life, and helps the traveller in the way of truth to reach his destination.

Then, again the argument goes on about Monotheism which was the aim of these few successive chapters, teaching lessons to the polytheists:-
``Allah is He who subdued to you the sea, so that the ship may sail in it by God's order, and that you may seek of His Grace, and perhaps you may be thankful.''

Who has made the building material of the ship in such a manner that it does not sink down?
Who has made the sea a soft bed, and a smooth pathway for the ships to sail on?
Who blows the gentle sea breeze in order to move on the ships so easily, or replaces the wind for gas?

Although the ocean divide people and nations, preventing them from mutual help and transactions, Allah by His Mercy and Knowledge, has subdued the sea to mankind so that he can easily sail his ship upon the wide seas, and join other nations for solving their mutual problems by seeking of God's Infinite Grace here and there around the globe.
By His cherishing care, God has made everything in the nature available for the use of mankind, through the knowledge and faculties that He has bestowed on them.
Everything comes to man from the Lord God, Who has blown or breathed of His spirit and power in Man; and there is indeed no room for man's ungratefulness to God. It is not only the sea which is subdued to man; the ship too has been subjected by Him to facilitate Man's voyages and transactions, or else.
In the verse NO.14, ``Days of God'' may mean the days of the kingdom of God; the most important among which might be the Resurrection Day and Final Judgement. As a matter of fact, all the days and nights belong to God, but some of them are relatively more important than the others, such as the Day in which Al-Mahdi raises up, or the Day of Doom, or the Day of our Death.
And there is the ending verse in the above passage:-
``He who did a righteous deed, has done it for himself, and he who did evil, it shall be against himself...''
Striving against evil, though a deed admired by wisdom, yet it must never be mingled with hatred and selfish motives. It should purely be done for the sake of God. It must also be kept in the mind that, God will give due recompense for good or bad, according to His own Infinite knowledge, and Excellent justice.
