THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A MOSLIM AND A BELIEVER
VERSE NO.14-15
Islam is submission, and has an apparent form in which anyone who testifies to the oneness of God, and prophethood of Mohammad (SA), is counted among Moslims. Then, Islamic rules and regulation applies to him. He can marry a Moslim girl, or be buried in a Moslim cemetery.
Conversion to a Moslim may have various stimulus and objects. One may be a Moslim for material or personal benefits, or being safe and secure or even for political motives. But faith differs; the root of faith is knowledge and understanding, and its fruit is piety and virtue. Faith is created in the heart and manifested in conducts.
In other word, a believer is a Moslim, but a Moslim might not be a believer, although the same meaning may sometimes accrue of both terms. Yet the verse adds:-
``...and if you obey Allah and His Messenger, He will diminish nothing of the rewards of your acts, because Allah is Forgiving Compassionate.''
In the next verse (NO.15), the true believers have been presented as those who eagerly believe in God and His Messenger and do not waver or return in doubt. Other qualification of them is that, they strive in the way of God by their wealth and in person. They do not waver after they believed and give no way to irresolution and doubt.
