Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 06)
verses 47-55verses 1-6

IN THE SEAT OF TRUTH WITH GOD.
VERSE NO.47-55
Here again the argument about the fate of the sinful unbelievers continues:-
``Verily the sinners are in error and blazing fine. The Day why they are pulled, faced, into the fire.
The next verse (no. 49), implies that; with God, everything has a due measure, and so is the case with the rewards and punishments, which are pertinent to the good and bad deeds, each having its own deserved recompense.
The wicked unbelievers accused the men of God, to be mad and out of their minds; but soon will they know that they themselves in their splendour and great brilliancy of physical power, and material enjoyments, were out of their minds and fools, particularly when they are pulled faced to the Fire; the fuel of which is their sins!
Then the reference is to the command and work of God:-
``And our command is no more than once, and God's Will is done in a twinkling of an eye.''
There is no space or time with God's existance. His commamd is no more than once and for all, and His will is done in a twinkling of an eye.
God's intention and decision, word and command, execution and achievement, and consequences and results, are no more than a single act, and that is instantly done. In God's command, the word ``BE'' includes everything in the above sequences, and without intervention or dependance upon any other being or thing of whatever. This is another aspect of Monotheism and God's Oneness.
