WHAT A GREAT MORALITY
VERSE NO. 1-7
When the above verses revealed, physically PEN could be a little piece of reed grass, or something like that. But mystically, it is the foundation of all civilizations and the source of all knowledge and wisdom.
As a matter of fact, the real life of mankind began when he knew how to use a pen.
The above oath was revealed in a place and time, wherein those who could have a pen and write something down were indeed very rare.
Before the above verse of swear by pen, the first verses that revealed to our prophet pointed to pen and whatever is being written by it! The object of the above swear is;-
``You are not mad by the favour of your Lord.''
Our prophet's standards were far different from those of his people, particularly the idolaters and pagan Arabs. His people found him to be very abnormal and therefore, they called him to be MAD! Madness in their superstition sight was some sort of a demonical possession and having secret relations with Jinns.
Now it is evident what an important role can the pen play in our life. Its value is indeed beyond definition. It joins the past generations to the present and future. It preserves and protects Man's thoughts and experiences. It is also a means of writing and communications which has also been the object of God's swear.
There is an Islamic tradition narrated that the first creature that god created was the pen.
It is also narrated that the ink that the scholars use is dearer than the blood of the martyrs, in the sight of Allah.
