Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 06)
Verses 44-52Verses 1-3

WOULD HE FORGE A LIE AGAINST US,WE,...
VERSE NO. 44-55
If Mohammad (SA) could dare to forge even one word, and ascribe it the Lord of the universe,Allah would never respite him, and would seize him by His hand of power, and cut out his carotid artery; and none could help him against Allah.
The theme of the above verses is the truthfulness of the Messenger of God, because Allah is aware of all things and no prophet can forge a lie and ascribe it to God; and no one can claim falsely to be a prophet unless God will demolish his cause, and reveal his lie,and defame and disgrace him in that community.
In the above verse (No. 45), YAMIN=right hand is the hand of power and action, and when someone seize something with his right hand, he seizes it more firmly and stronger.
As to the meaning of, ``HAGHOL-YAGHIN'' which we have translated to, ``CERTAIN TRUTH'', the Islamic scholars have applied three degrees for being sure of a fact:-
The grades or degrees of being perfectly sure of a truth are three stages:-
1)Being assured by evidence of the fact. For instance, by seeing a smoke, we make sure that there must be a fire beneath it. This is called the, ``KNOWLEDGE OF CERTAINTY''.
2)Approaching the fire and seeing the flames is the next stage which scholars call it the, ``VISION OF CERTITUDE''.
3)Then if the investigator of truth approaches the fire and burns his hand or feels the heat, we may say that he is sure of the truth, ``CERTAIN TRUTH''.
