Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 06)
Verses 29-40Verses 41-50

THE SINNER CAN NEITHER DEFEND, NOR ESCAPE
VERSE NO. 29-40
In the above passage, the end of the Deniers of God, and Beliers of Resurrection Day has been pointed to:-
``Begone to that which you were denying! Go you to that dreadful burning and blinder smoke which has three branches, which have neither comfort, nor avail anything against the burning flames.''
Some commentators have understood the above verses (NO. 30-31), an allegory with a meaning metaphorically aplied to the three power of RAGE, PASSION and CAPRICES, that are not expressly stated:-
Avoid the darkness of rage and passion:
The smoke of which may darken your heart.
When rage comes in, wisdom goes out,
And caprices will perplex your soul.
Then the sparks of the blazing fire are described:-
``It shoots out sparks, as big as palaces.''
The red hot huge sparks flying one after another, reminds an Arab of a train of yellow camels marching swiftly. This is seen in the Day of Doom, which the Holy QurÌn repeatedly said:-
``Woe on that day to the beliers.''
When the sinners look at such a dresdful scenery, they become destitute of the power of speach by astobishment! They will stop talking, but facts will speak plainly on behalf of them! Even their own limbs and tongues may bear witness against them.
