Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 06)
verses 4-6verses 7-11

HE IS ALWAYS ON THE THRONE OF POWER.
VERSE NO. 4-6
Following the eleven attributes of God which were stated in the previous passage, here again more of them have been declared, such as His character of Creator:-
``It is He who created the heavens and the earth in six days.(periods of time)''
By six days, six terms or period of time is meant. Of course it was easy for God to create the whole universe in a twinkle of an eye, but His knowledge and wisdom demanded the creation to be gradual in course of time and one after another.
Then God sat on the throne of power through which He controls everything and every movement He is aware of, and looks after whatever goes on in His infinity extensive and numerous creation. He knows what penetrates into the earth such as a rain drop or a dead body, and whatever emerges out of the earth like the plants and mineral or springs, gases oil and volcanic eruptions.
Sitting upon the throne does not mean that; God completed the creation in six days, and in the seventh day which is supposed to be Saturday or Sabbath He rested, and still He rests and has no work to do as some of the Jewish Doctors of the Law have stated. God's creative process still goes on,and never stops. In His throne of power and authority, He knows, He sees and He controls everything. His work is boundless and ends in infinity. No space or time is out of God's realm of control, yet He is always beyond space and time. Wherever we be He is with us, and whatever we do He sees that.
God is with all of us wherever we be, and why and how should He be absent, or far from us, when we depend on him in all our aspects and respects. In our existence, we depend on Him instant by instant, and every now and then we are in need of His Merciful aids to continue our being. This is because He is the soul of Existence and the spirit of the world, and rather far higher and greater than this and that.
It is narrated that:-Once Moses(AS) asked God;``My Lord! Where can I find you?'' God answered:-``As soon as you intend to find Me, You have joined Me.''
