FOLLOW NOT THOSE WITH SUCH QUALITIES
VERSE NO. 8-16
This passage forbids the believers to follow and obey the beliers; that almost all of whom have the following qualifications:-
They are liars and mean swearers.
They are backbiters and fault finders.
They forbid good and lawful, and enjoin bad and illegitimate.
They are aggressive and sinful.
They are proud of their wealth and manpower supports of sons and wage-earners.
They are erring and misled people who mislead others too.
They are willing to compromise with the honest and righteous men so as to deviate them from their tenets and principles.
Such was the case with the polytheists of Mecca when they invited the prophet to compromise with them, and respect some of their important idols that their forefathers worshipped. They tried to give some privileges to the prophet and obtain more peculiar advantages from him. This was when the unbelievers did their best to put out the light of the truth that was alighted by the Messenger of God, and were utterly frustrated in all the fields of their endeavours. So, they changed their strategy, and large scale plannings. They urged the prophet to become flexible, and to compromise with them.
LIARS are generally not believed in, and therefore, they get accustomed to swear falsely,and every now and then, and on all occasions; and hence the verses:-
``Do not follow the mean swearers too.''
