Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 06)
verses 63-67verses 68-74

IS THE FARMER GOD OR YOU?
VERSE NO. 63-67
Leaving the matter of our creation, it appeals to the external nature around us to continue its reasonings. For an example, it refers to the seed which we sow it in the soil. We only cover it with dust, but its growth is entirely God's process. We even do not know how God makes it to grow, or what rules and regulations control its development:-
``Have you ever thought of what you cultivate? Do you give it growth or We cause it to grow?''
It is evident that Man can only sow a seed or plant a shrub, and it is God Who brings it up. Therefore, the real farmer and the true gardener is God alone.
To put an emphasis upon the matter that Man is not the real farmer it is added:-
``Had We willed, We would turn your harvest or farmings, into decayed and broken straw, then you would be astonished and say:- ``We are in utter loss, or utterly deprived!''
