Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 06)
verses 31-36verses 37-45

IF YOU CAN ESCAPE; THEN PROCEED ON
VERSE NO. 31-36
This passage leaves the bounties of this present life of us; and applies to the next life,in a threatening voice:-
``Soon shall We apply to you O, Man and Jinn.''
In other word, your probation term will soon terminate, and you will have to taste the results of whatever you have done.
Although nothing can occupy God so as to make him to ignore anything else in the infinity, yet He has said that He will apply seriously to the account and record, of the two principal groups of intelligent creatures, who are endowed with Free Will- (Jinn Man).
The Arabic, ``SAGHALAN'' literally means two heavy weights or two weighty things. It connotes to the wise and inelligant species of creatures, namely Jinn and Man-One group in the unseen world and another group before our eyes here in this verse (NO. 31).
Jinn and Man are addressed collectively, and both are the theme and subject of discourse in the whole Sureh.
Then the two heavy groups of creatures are asked to pentrate the confines of heavens and earth if they can...
Some commentators have understood this verse to mean:Jinn and Man cannot escape their fate in the God's judgement and punishments accordingly;and all will be entrapped in Dooms Day to be recompensed for their deeds.
But in the said verse (NO. 33), using the word ``NOFOOZ'' which means penetration, will explain the matter otherwise, and has made many commentators of the opinion that Man may obtain the necessary power and authority to travel into the skies by way of knowledge and know-how.
