I AM NOT THE OWNER OF ANYONE'S LOSS OR GAIN
VERSE NO. 20-24
The above verses are to fortify the pillars of monotheism:-
``Say I only call upon my Lord, and associate no one with Him. Neither I am the owner of any gain or loss of yours. I too, if disobey my Lord; He will punish me and there will be no one to give me a hand against that.
This is a lesson that, teaches a Moslim not to exaggerate the position and dignity of our prophet, as the Christians did, when they deified Jesus the son of Mary and his mother!
Our prophet, Mohammad (SA) has repeatedly announced that he is a man the like of us, and that his difference with us is, in receiving inspiration; and his duty is to convey God's Message and treatise.
In this passage, the Messenger of God tells his people:-``I cannot force you to right conducts, or to guide you to what I wish. That must depend upon the purification of your own faith and will. I only convey the Message of God to you, and whatever I receive from Him of commandments and treatise. I only obey our Lord, that if I disobey Him, I can find no one to deliever me. I have put my trust in Him and He is the only trustworthy and reliable refuge that I have ever known.''
