Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 06)
Verses 15-20Verses 21-25

THE GARDENER OF BEING HAS GROWN YOU AS A FLOWER
VERSE NO. 15-20
``Don't you see that Allah created seven heavens, one upon the other. (TEBAGHAN)''
The Arabic, ``TERAGHAN'' has two main shades of meaning, namely; ``one layer upon the other'' or ``concordance and conformity.''
Here, in the above verse both meanings apply well to the various skies.
Most probably, the verse (NO. 15) is the continuance of Noah's preaching his people, and it is not the saying of Allah.
In our sky, the sun has been introduced as a lamp, but the moon has been presented as a light. This is because the sun is a light emitting source, but the moon merely reflects the light of the sun.
Then, once again the reference turns to the Resurrection Day:-
``And Allah caused you to grow out of the earth like a plant.''
The appearance of Mankind upon the earth is similar to that of plants. In both cases, a seed is sown that germinates, grows and then die and goes back to the earth.
