I SWEAR BY THE IGNITED SEA!
This is another chapter of QurÌn that begins with oaths, with the purpose of attesting the truth of Resurrection and find Judgement.
The certainty of the Final Judgment, and the reward for deeds, either good or bad, have been asserted solemnly under five oaths, which in fact are five signs of the future great events.
Each of the swears has mystical meaning, such as the Mountain in the first verse. It refers to the Mount Sinai on which Moses took the revelation.
Our holy prophet too got his first inspiration in a cave named,``BAIT -AL-MAAMUR''. Various views have been asserted. Some commentators know it to be a temple in the heavens, which is in link with Kaabeh on the earth, and angels worship God in that temple.
Some have said it connotes to the pure and clean heart of true believers.
Some others have understood it to be Kaabeh which is always crowded with pilgrims. Yet it may be also taken generally to mean any of the important temples or houses of worship dedicated to the true God (Allah).
As to the elevated ceiling, it is understood to be the heavens which its sublimity has no limit.
As to the ignited sea; it may be the great sea of melted material, which lay in the center of the Globe and is proved by volcanic eruptions.
