Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 06)
Verses 5-6Verses 7-9

I HAVE THE GOOD-NEWS OF THE ADVENT OF AHMAD
VERSE NO. 5-6
The reference is now to two of the Arch Prophets of God whom their people harmed and persecuted:-
``And when Moses said to his people:``O, my people! why do you vex me while you all know that I am the Messenger of God to you?''
The vexation may refer to all the troubles and pretexts that his people brought forth throughout the life of Moses. An instance of this was the conquest of Jerusalem, when Moses said to his people:-
``O, my people! Enter the holy land which Allah has prescribed it for you.'' And they answered:-
``O, Moses! There live a people who are tyrant with a harsh and unjust use of power. We shall never enter the land as long as the tyrant people live there. Then go forth you and your Lord and fight you both while we shall be sitting here!'' (S-5:22-24)
The Israelites were a selfish and racial people, with a perverse and rebellious spirit and they many times rebelled against Moses and vexed him.
In the Bible, NUMBERS 14-is written that his people complained against Moses and Aaron and said:-
``It would be better to die in Egypt than here in the wilderness, therefore we better choose another leaders in place of Moses, and go back to Egypt! Then the Lord said:-``How much longer will these people reject me? How long will they refuse to trust me even though I have performed so many miracles among them? I will send on epidemic to destroy them. But Moses begged Allah to pardon his people and God forgave them again.
In the next verse, the reference is to the obstructions and hinderances, that the Israelites caused in the way of Jesus, the sun of Mary. He said to them:- ``I am the Messenger of God, confirming the Law of Torah, which is with you and I am the bearer of Glad-tidings of future prophet whose name is AHMAD. I have come to join the link of the past chain of true faithfuls to that of the future chain.''
A group of the Israelites believed in Jesus, while a greater group of them denied and belied him.
The mission of Jesus was only to his own people, the Jesus. We read in MATTHEW-15-24 that he clearly says:-
I have been sent only to those lost sheep, the people of Israel.''
When he sends his discipline on the missions to preach his doctrine, he tells them through MATT. 10:5:-
``Do not go to any gentile territory or to any Samaritan towns. Instead you are to go to those lost sheep-the people of Israel. Go and preach that the kingdom of heavens in near.''
On the other hand, Jesus the son of Mary, did not bring a new religion or a new law. He rather taught the existing law of Moses, as it really was and unprevented. To this effect, we read in the MATTHEW-5:17:-
``Do not think that I have come to do away with the Law of Moses and the teaching of the prophets. I have not come to do away with them, but to make their teaching come true. Remember that so long as heavens and earth last, not the least point, nor the smallest details, of the Law will be done away with, not until the end of all things.''
