Verses 40-41Verses 42-43

VERSES NO. 40- 41

This alludes to the fate of the haughty and arrogant unbelievers who turn away from the path of truth with pride and vanity. Therefore the doors of spiritual progress and God's nearness will be closed upon them: ``Those who belied our signs and turned away from them by pride, the doors of sky will not open to them, nor shall they enter the Paradise until the camel passed through the eye of needle.''

Hazrat Imam Mohammad Bجgher has said: ``The deeds and souls of people will be taken up to the sky. The doors up there will open for the believers to pass over to the Paradise; but it shall shut up on the unbelievers, so that they are repelled back to the lower stage in Hell.''

The phrase about passage of camel through the eye of needle, is an old and famous proverb to state and express the impossibility of something. This proverb has also been used by Jesus Christ in the New Testament; LUKE 18: 24. Jesus said:``How hard it is for rich people to enter the kingdom of God. It is much harder for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God, than for a camel to go through the eye of a needle.''

The next verse (NO. 41) refers to the fate of the faithless sinners to whom various titles are given, such as: proud, haughty, oppressor, beliers, and etc., which all return to the same root and meaning - Their final destiny is to have a bed and covering of fire in the Hell.
