THE FATE OF THE REBELS. (VERSE NO. 6)

From here on, a series of instructions and admonitions are given in order to waken up the conscience of the unbelievers and polytheists; stage by stage. It begins with pounding over the cause of arrogance and vanity, by reminding us of the fate of the people who lived before us: ``Do they not see how many generations have we destroyed before them?''

They were established on the earth with more power, facilities and privilages than that which you have, and yet they were all destroyed on account of their SINS and evil deeds. If by arrogance we should suppose that we are firmly established on the earth, and we shall remain safe and secure with our privilages, and we do not avoid evil deeds, and fail in our duties, we must expect the worse of what happened to our predecessors, and see our fate in the mirror of the forgoing nation's fate.
