Verses 142-144SOME OF THE UNLAWFUL ANIMALS VERSE NO. 145

VERSE NO. 142- 144

Once again reference is made to the Arab's superstitions about animals flesh for food, and the lies that they used to forge against Allah. Sheep, goats, camels, and oxen, were, and are, their main source of meat. They made use of the said animals in many purposes; their flesh for food, their wool for clothes, tents and carpets, and their backs for carrying burdens, and etc.

The Arabic, `FARSH' denotes carpet but it may connote small animals such as sheep and goat.

These cattle are mentioned as God's sustenance and provisions created for mankind, and they should use them according to the Divine Law legislated by their Creator. Man should not follow - Quran says - the footsteps of Satan, like forging a lie against Allah or inventing superstitious taboo, and ascribing it to Allah; and issuing lawful and unlawful commandments falsely and saying it is by God's Will! Examples of these false and fabricated religious law was given in the past verses like:

      * What is in the womb of such and such animals is specially reserved for our males and it is unlawful for our women!

      * Or, if a she camel or some other domestic animal gave birth to a large number of youngs, she or one of her children had her ear slit as a sign that she was dedicated to some idols, and no one dared to touch and use it! As a matter of fact no one is authorized to legislate a law on account of what Allah has created for man's food, or other natural aspect, except the creator Himself who is All- knowing and All-wisdom. There must be enough knowledge and reasonable proofs for decreeing a thing as lawful or unlawful. This is why Quran says through these verses:

``Were you witnesses when He enjoined this order on you?''

Who is then more unjust than he who forges a law of lie against Allah?''

``Tell me of that with knowledge if you are truthful?''
