VERSE NO. 23

      Then two men from among them who were Godfearing and virtuous by God's favour said to the Israelites:- ``Enter the gate and you will be victorious in your struggle, if you put your trust in God.''

      Evidences show that these two virtuous men were, 1) JOSHUA, who afterwards succeeded Moses in the leadership and led the Israelites into the Holy Land.

      2) The second one was named CALEB. They both pleaded for immediate entry through the proper gate on condition of trusting God.
