Verses 59-62VERSE NO. 60

SECRETS OF THE UNSEEN

VERSE NO. 59

Here on, some more detail is given about the aforementioned verses, and proceeds with the infinite knowledge of God, saying:

``All the keys of the hidden treasures rest in the hands of God.''

The Arabic MAFطTIH , plural for MEFTطH, has a two- fold meanings- It may either mean the keys or the treasures. Here both of the meanings are simultaneously apprehended. The theme of the verse is that, the simplest and the most complex of things in nature are all subject to the universal plan and LAWS of the creator- the leaf that falls down- the fresh and dry- that grain hidden in the soil- all and all are inside the universal plan of creation, and map of the creator- all are recorded in the manifest and open Book of Allah. Is not that open Book the whole nature, the whole universe, the whole existence?

In other word Allah is aware of the movement of the innumberable creatures whether small or large, be it in land or in the oceans- He is aware of the vibration of every leaf on the land and every wave on the sea- of the form and shape of hills and valleys- of the exact numbers of the cells that makes the human body; and besides, He is aware of all the crests and depths of the waves of thought that waver and oscillate in the human brains:

Not a leaf falls out of a branch or shrub, but Allah knows its fall!''

In fact, the fall of the leaf is the moment of its death, and the burrying of the grain in the darkness of the soil, is commencing the raising steps towards life, and God is the only one who knows all the rules and regulations of life and death.

This verse rejects the doctrine of those philosophers who hold that God only knows the whole lot, and He is unaware of the partialities and extensive details.

The other lesson that we can take of this verse is the advantages of the belief in such a Lord who is All-knowing, All-aware of everything, and every secret of our existence- the Lord God who can see well our thought, our motives, and our innermost intentions. Such a belief leaves no room for our negligence or carelessness.
