VERSES NO. 62 - 63

``These are complementary to the aforementioned verses. In order to conceal and cover their ugly faces of pretence, the hypocrites deny most of their mischiefs. By resorting to false oaths, they try to deceive people, for fear of the believers, as it was mentioned in the preceding verses:-

``They swear to you by Allah to please you, while Allah and His Messenger Has more right to be pleased by them, if they are believers.''

It is worthy of note that, in the clause: ``Allah and His Messenger has more right.'' In the above verse; the indicative, `HAS' is taken as singular and third person,(GOD) instead of, `HAVE' to be used for both, Allah and His Messenger!

This implies that the prophet completely depends upon Allah, and his existence has been negated in God's existence, and that he has no reliance upon himself, and this is why to please him is pleasing Allah.

There is a tradition that; `one of the prophet's companions said: ``He who obeyed Allah and His Messenger prospered, but he who disobeyed THEM is lost.''When the prophet heard that, he told that companion: ``You are a bad speaker for using THEM instead of HIM.''
