THE PERJURER TRANSGRESSORS (VERSES NO. 7 - 10)

The first two verses (7 & 8 ) are better to be read together, to get the meaning out. There are the reasons why the treaties with the pagan foes had to be dissolved and ignored:

So it happened that, whenever they got some advantages and prevailed a little over the Muslims party, they regarded neither the ties of kinship, nor that of their treaties; only because their opposite party was believer! They also behaved hypocritically and their tongue was averse to their heart, and said what they did not mean it.

As the verse implies; these secular traders sold the signs of Allah for some miserable worldly gain, and they debarred people from the way of Allah.

For the above reasons and more:

``How could there be a covenant for the polytheists pagans with Allah and with His Messenger?''

In the above verse (No. 7) a parentetical clause has been opened, to introduce an exception for the few pagans who remained true to their word, and observed the term and conditions of their covenant:

``Excepting those with whom you made a covenant at the Sacred Mosque, and they have observed it faithfully. So long as they go straight with you, go straight with them, that Allah loves those who are pious.''

The exceptional pagan tribes who remained faithful with their covenant, were the clans of BANUZOMREH and BANUKHAZIMEH, who made their covenant at the Sacred Mosque (KAABEH), and they faithfully observed it. So were they given the full benefit of their fidelity, and they deserved it, because in the Book of God the account of fidels and infidels differ from one another. The verse (No. 10) implies that, if the pagan foes prevail over you, they observe neither the terms of treaty nor the ties of kinship with any believer, for being transgressors.
