THE IMPENETRABLES (VERSE NO. 25- 26)

This alludes to the psychological state of some of the polytheists who show not the least amount of flexibility in favour of the truth! On the contrary they resist it by showing stern enmity. In fact their blind fanaticism and deep paganism that has drowned them in material motives, has also cast a curtain or veil upon their minds and hearts; so much so that they neither hear a word of truth nor apprehend it: ``We have put a veil upon their hearts, not to apprehend.'' Here, God's veiling corresponds to the Law of Cause and Effect, and the veil is the consequence of their deeds and action and nothing else!

Those who do evil, are ashamed of their deeds at the beginning and the inner voice of their conscience admonishes them. As they gradually continue with their wrong, they get accustomed to their evil and soon it turns to a second natural habit in them, and so deep that they can not get rid of it any more! In such a state, when they are advised or admonished for their bad behaviours, they only dispute, and stick to flimsy pretexts, or even they may bring a charge on the adviser or admonisher, or attack with the weapon of calumny or scandels.
