LESSONS IN REPETITION OF HISTORY (VERSES NO. 69 -70)

Here the mirror of history has been put before man to look it on and take admonishing lessons, Quran asks them; call to mind the fate of those who lived before them: They were of more power and health, children and wealth. They enjoyed their share of provisions and facilities of this material world, and passed away, giving their place and position to the new comers.

They plunged into evil deeds and the lagoon of material desires, and the marsh of sensual passions - they plunged and you plunged too! The verse continues, then admonishing them: ``Have they not received the news of the people before them, such as the people of Noah, who were eventually drowned by the Flood, or the people of طd and Thamud after that? Or the cities that were overthrown by sin and disbelief, like Sodom and Gomorrah?''

The incidents and destiny of all the mentioned people and more of them, has been narrated throughout the Holy Quran, if there be a man who wants to listen and take lesson.
