AZAN THE GREATES OF ISLAMIC SLOGANS

Every nation has his own method and way of calling people to a common gathering for religion, social, or political purposes. Christians have the BIG BELL to summon Christians to the church; while Islam has the AZAN for calling Muslims to prayer. AZAN, if you study it well, has the deepest meanings and the greatest spiritual attraction:-

``God is Greater than whatever mankind can think of or imagine. There exists no god but Allah - I testify that Mohammad S.A. is the Messenger of God - Hurry to Prayer - Hurry to Salvation - Hurry to the best of deeds.''

What a nice slogan is that which begins with the name of Allah, announcing His oneness and Monotheism and ends in that too. Besides testifying Allah's Oneness and the prophet hood of His Messenger, in AZAN, Muslims are called to prayer - to salvation - and to vie with one another in good deeds.

The AZAN was revealed to our prophet through inspiration just the same as all the other verses of Quran that so revealed to him and one should not give an ear to some fairy tales that a group of unaware Muslims have forged about AZAN; that the prophet asked his companions what was to be done and how could he call people to come for the prayer; and one of his disciples dreamt of the wording of AZAN and such and such!
