Verse 108Verses 109-110

VERSE NO. 108

      Some of the believers who were rigorous and severe in their faith and religion called the idols bad names and abused the idolaters. Quran has strictly forbidden such a behaviour with those who have not accepted our ideas and opinions. This is because there could be opposite reactions, and also it could result in a dishonour to the true God, and increase their obstinacy against God's Message and Messenger.

      No one thinks the less of himself, and his notions, by either ignorance or selfishness; and people's deeds and faiths are adorned in their sight and think of theirs the best, and God the Merciful, the Compassionate, bears with all; and wants those who are guided by His Grace not to debase their fellow men, and despise them for their thought and belief. Every one will eventually come to know on what stage of mind, thought, and deeds, he has been. Therefore: ``Do not abuse those whom they call appart from Allah, lest they may abuse Allah through their ignorance.''
