There are two verses in the Quran that are revealed on account of the inheritance of brothers and sisters:- verse 4:12 considers the case of uterine brothers or sisters, and this verse refers to brothers and sisters by the father's side, whether they be of the same mother or not. In this relation four cases are considered and decreed as follows:- 1- If a man passes away, having no children, and that he has a sister, she shall inherit one half of what he leaves. 2-If a woman dies having no children, and that she has one brother from her father, he inherits all her properties. 3- If someone dies who has two sisters, they shall inherit two third of what he leaves. 4- If the heirs of the deceased are brothers and sisters, they divide the heritage between themselves on the bases that; the male inherits twice the share of the female. *- In all cases, debts, funeral expenses, and legacies, (to the amount allowed) have priority. *- Some commentators believe that the above was the last Islamic commandment that was revealed to our prophet.
