THE PAINFUL END OF PHARAOH AND HIS PEOPLE

VERSE NO. 137

In most of the fields of life; belief, patience, and constancy, are the main factors of success and victory. On the other hand, disbelief, arrogance and oppression are always the cause of failure and fall.

In this case the children of Israel who were despised and pressed under the pride and vanity of Egyptains and their king, stood firm and stout, and endured patiently due to their faith in God, and thus they managed to become a great, glorious and independent nation under Solomon. they were prosperous, and their extensive dominion was blessed. Their governed territory extended to the easts of the earth and the wests of it, because the promise of God to the Israel and to Moses was fulfilled in their case.

On the other hand, Pharaoh and his people lost their lives as well as all that they had, due to their arrogance, oppression and Godlessness. Their splendid palaces, beautiful houses, temples, tombs and statues that they had constructed with so much crafts and skill were all buried in the sands. Their beautiful gardens with erected grapevines for wine, were all destroyed. Even their great cities like Thebes and Memphis became as if they had never existed! and archaelogist had to dig up their ruins from the sands.
