Belief is not something on the tip of the tongue. It must set in the heart and appear distinctly in the acts. When polytheism has been declared as the greatest of sins, and has to be avoided, all its traces too, has to be rubbed and removed clearly. The Pagan Arabs used to sacrifice animals for their idols, and gave the flesh of the sacrificed to the needy and idolaters for food. This sort of food too, is strictly forbidden in God's religion, and is a part of idolatry and polytheism: It is unlawful for you to eat the flesh of that, invoked and ascribed to anything other than Allah.'' In the Old Testement this commandment has been issued with much more stress- we read in EXODUS 22: 20: ``Condemn to death anyone who offers sacrifice to any god except Me!'' ALL TRACES OF POLYTHEISM SHOULD BE RUBBED AND REMOVED ( VERSE NO. 118)
