THE AVARICIOUS SELF- INDULGENTS (VERSE NO. 41)

      Again the argument is continued on JIHAD, and encouraging the believers to get on and go forth, whether ill-armed or well-armed, on foot or mounted; and fight for the cause, and strive with their wealth and person in the way of Allah. Though the intention and the object of such strive is Allah, but actually it is for our own good if we could only know it:

      If we could know that our strive is the key to honour, and a token of esteem paid to worth- If we could only know that no nation in the world can obtain freedom and justice without strive- And if we could but know that strive is the road to reach the pleasure of Allah our Lord God, and to an everlasting salvation, and prosperity, we would never frown at JIHAD and strive for the sake of God.
