VERSE NO. 149

      Lest the polytheists think that, God by His silence is approving their false opinion and evil deeds, and that they were destined to do what they have done, the verse here points at a conclusive reasoning of God, which is the election and raise of prophets, and inspiration of the scriptures as light and guidance to man, in order to lead them to the straight road to felicity and salvation:

      ``Say: `To Allah belongs (the upper hand of the) conclusive reasoning.''

      This is to say; God, by His infinite power, knowledge, and Mercy, Has given man some responsibility which will comply with man's limited faculty and Free- Will. This is to train man, and to DEVELOP him to satisfy living an eternal and prosperous life. If man fails to attain such a maturity, Allah will help him in various ways by His Mercy and Grace. But, what is to be done if man intentionally wants to go on sinning and sinning? God will help those who help themselves.
