VERSE NO. 77Verses 80-83

VERSES NO. 78 - 79

Next day in the morning when he saw the sun rising up, he said:

Let us suppose that, this is my lord, for it is the largest among all, and the brightest of them.''

The mithraists did not know then, there are millions of stars in the universe which are far greater and many times brighter than this small sun in our solar system! But the day elapsed and the sun also set, and the questions were not reasonably answered! Then the Arch Prophet of God concluded:

``O, My people! I am estranged of whatever you associate with God.'' Let us leave aside all these false gods and turn our face to Him who has created the heaven and the earth and whatever is in them.

``I have turned my face to Him who created the heavens and the earth, and I am not of the polytheists.''

Some commentators believe that the above allegory which is the veiled presentation of Abraham's ideas in a figurative story has happened before his prophet hood, and when he was a little boy at his early years of teenages.

Other group of commentators believe that, this was when he had grown enough, and had attained his high rank of prophet hood. In our commentary we have taken the latter view, which is supported by many reasons and traditions.
