THE DEAF HEARERS (VERSE NO. 20 - 23)

      These verses are to criticize those who do know something that they must do, and yet they do it not. They hear but pay no heed or attention to what they hear, while they are apparently in the line of the believers! Such is the creed of the hypocrites who are false pretenders to virtue and piety, but they feign to be other and better than they are!

      Listening and taking no action; or saying something that you will not do it, are among the calamities that afflict man's society. Therefore once again this matter is emphasized in the next verse:

      ``The vilest of animal in the sight of Allah, are deaf, dumb, who do not apprehend. (they do not want to understand)''
