VERSE NO. 50 DEFEAT AND FAILURE HAS NO MEANING IN A BELIEVER'S DICTIONARY (VERSE NO. 52)

NOTHING WILL HAPPEN TO US EXCEPT THAT WHICHALLAH HAS WRITTEN (VERSE NO. 51)

There is no doubt that everything depends on our endeavours, and there is nothing for man except the fruit of his work, strive, and try. (S 53: 39) And that every soul is held in pledge of his own deeds. (S 74: 38)

But out of the bounds of the limited field of our strive, the hand of God is at work. This is where Allah is the only ruler, Who rules with the Law of Cause and Effect; and that which God's general plan, infinite wisdom, and limitless knowledge, demands will be done.

The truthful believer is sure that, whatever comes down from his Lord is according to wisdom, justice, and all is good and welcome. Therefore every one has a fate and destiny which conforms to his merits, capacity, and attainments, and at length we come to this point that life is what we make it with our heart and hand.
