Verse 92THE IMPORTANCE OF THE PRAYER

VERSE NO. 92

The argument on the aforementioned verse was about Towrat, the Book which was sent down to Moses; and here the argument is taken to the glorious Quran sent down to Mohammad. It says:

This is a book that We have sent it down blessed.'' The pronoun `WE' implies that the author of the Holy Quran is Allah. The Book is blessed- i.e. it is full of God's blessings, among which we may name His guidance and light. So the Book is the bringer of God's blessing to His servant.

According to the verse the book also confirms that which has been sent down before it. This means that it conforms with all signs and symptoms that are given in the Scriptures prior to it.

Therefore, from the stand point of its valuable contents, and historical documents, it is truly the foretold Book sent down to the promised prophet.

As for the object of the Book; it is to warn and give good news to all - first to the mother of the cities (Mecca) and then all around it which means the whole world.

According to some Islamic traditions; once upon a time all the globe was covered with water. The first piece of land that appeared as the earth, was then Mecca. That piece of land gradually extended to what it is now. Therefore to preach Mecca and all round it means to preach the whole world.
