THOSE WHOSE COVENANT IS RESPECTABLE(VERSE NO. 3)

      The verse begins with the conjunction, `AND' which is connective word, joining it to the preceding verses, for further emphasis, and more stress.

      Here, `THE PEOPLE' and `THE IDOLATERS' are addressed; which implies that; every one had to know the announcement the polytheists being the object, and the rest of the people being witnesses.

      To keep the doors of God's Mercy open, once again the idolaters are addressed saying:

      ``And if you repent, that will be far better for you. But if you turn away, you will not be able to render Allah's Will ineffective, or to frustrate. Then you shall meet your doom through a painful punishment.''
