Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 02)
Verses 114-115VERSE NO. 115

VERSE NO. 114

This is a conclusion to the preceding verses, with a question that: ``Should a Muslim seek other standards of judgement, apart from that which God has revealed for him in detail, through the Holy Quran?'' Quran comes down and goes up, according to classes of educations, and grades of knowledge in mankind, so that men of every capacity can understand it!:

``Should I seek an Arbitrator other than Allah, when it is He who sent down to you the Glorious Quran detailed.''

The Arabic word `HAKAM' is one of God's names, which means, `JUDGE'or,`ARBITRATOR' who is chosen to settle a difference between parties in controversy.

The ending of the verse implies that not only the prophet and his disciples knew that the Holy Quran has been sent down from their Lord, but also the people of the Scriptures too, knew that matter very well; because the signs and symptoms of the prophet and his book are well explained in their Scripture, even in this perverted canonical Bible and Gospel:

Those to whom the Scriptures have been given know that the Holy Quran is sent down from your Lord.''

And they may hide that and keep it as a secret for some material benefit and mortal privileges.
