VERSE NO. 45

      And when so happened, God punished them severely, and cut off the remnants of the oppressors. In fact, God's punishment of the wrong doers, is a measure of Justice, and to this effect the ending of the verse is: ``And praise belongs to Allah the Lord of all the worlds.'' Here Allah's righteous decrees and His justice is an aspect of His character, as the Lord and cherisher of all the worlds. Cutting off the roots and remnants of the oppressors, and the evil doers is a praise worthy virtue according to this verse. (No. 45)

      Hazrat Imam Sadiq (AS) has said: ``He who loves the duration of oppressors and tyrants, he loves God to be disobeyed, because Allah has praised himself for the cut off of the remnants of the oppressors.''
