VERSE NO. 71

The idolaters insisted to turn Muslims back to their old creed of polytheism and idolatry. They did their best to make them recant and join the idols once again. The logical answer of the verse is:

``Why should a Muslim turn back to idols, as far as there must be for every action a profit or a repulsion of loss! When an idol which is merely a piece of material that can neither profit nor harm, why should it be preferred to Allah?''

Say: ``Are we to call apart from Allah, on what neither profits nor hurts us?'' Should we turn back on our heels after that Allah has guided us?''

The verse then through a parable, illustrates the case of leaving Monotheism and turning into polytheism and idolatry:

``It is like he who is perplexed and filled with uncertainity by Satans, and is wandering in the deserts not knowing where to go or what to do.''

So will be his case and situation while he has already been guided, and has also aware friends, who call him: ``Come to us. Don't leave our company, that giants of the deserts might enslave you.'' Come to us and submit, that, guidance is only the guidance of Allah; who is our Lord and the originator and Cherisher of all the worlds.
