Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 05)
Verses 16-18Verses 19-20

Our holy prophet was ordered to leave aside the stubborn disputants who are bellicose unbelievers, and to follow the instructions which were sent down to him through inspiration, and judge among all kinds of people with justice:-

``Those who dispute about Allah after He has been accepted, their reasoning is futile and baseless with their Lord, and on them is a wrath, and for them is a stern punishment.''

There are always some disbeliever who are bellicose and inclined to contention. In their dispute they usually take an aggressive attitude against what they dislike, or disbelieve. For them logic and reason has no meaning and they assault the minds of believers who have been convinced and accepted the Faith in God. They do want to seduce and lead the believers, and on the contrary their assaults will recoil on their own heads. Being so, they incur the wrath of God and for them awaits a stern punishment.

``Allah is He who sent down the Book in Truth.''

The Arabic, ``HAGH'' translated to, ``TRUTH'' is a very comprehensive word with several shades of meaning, including; true knowledge and faithِcorrect news, instruction, and programmeِIt is correspondence to reality, and conformity to ruleِIt may also mean exactness and correctness, or that which is true.

Then there is the Arabic, ``ALMIZÄN'' translated to, ``BALANCE'' which means any measuring device or means. It is also the emblem of JUSTICE, and hence any means of determining human values:-

``Allah is He who sent down the Book in truth and the BALANCE.''

Here Qurän is the Book sent down as a Criterion and a Balance for measuring right and wrong. God has placed the balance of Qurän in our hands with which we can weigh all moral issues and all the wrongs and rights of our deeds. We should scale our deeds in this balance before we are presented to the court of Allah's Final Judgement.

How do we know, and what do we know? Perhaps the sure hour of the judgement is very near!

And it can indeed be very near if we put our foot out of the realm of space and time, as when we are asleep or dead.
