Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 05)
Verses 26-29Verses 30-33

Following the story of David, our Lord addresses him that We have appointed you as Our Representative in the earth. Therefore judge justly and follow not your caprices that can stray you from the way of Allah.

The contents of the verse (NO.26) alludes to the exalted position of David in the sight of God. So, all the stories of rapes, incests, fraudulents dealings and other narratives of scandalous crimes that are cited about David in the Bible, are refuted by Qurän.

God bestowed on David great gifts, such as wisdom, justice and power of judgement, prophethood and extensive kingdom, in order to make justice and love prevalent among people, and to make virtue prevail against evil.

David did well in what he was, for being a man very just and upright, and endowed with all kinds of virtues. Even if he would encounter with the least amount of a mistake, he would immediately correct it with repentance, and his great awe for God.

Then reference is made to the creation of the universe and the creatures that are in them. It emphasizes that there is an aim and purpose behind everything, large or small, that has come to existence; and nothing has ever been created in vain:-

``And We have not created the sky and earth, and whatever is between them in vain and without purpose. That is what the unbelievers think. Woe is on them of the Fire in which they will have to burn.''

The purpose that is laid behind the creation of all things, should encourage man in every rank and position to adhere to justice and proceed in doing good for the sake of the Good God.

The world has of surety been created for a just end, and the righteous will win the final bliss. This is because God is Kind and Just, and will eventually restore the balance distributed in this life. So there is a time coming in which the truth and justice will prevail, that, God never wants to treat the good and evil alike.

This passage ends in that, Qurän informs man of the origin, destination, and aim of creation:-

``It is a book that We have sent it down to you Blessed, so that men of understanding may ponder over its verses, and take warning.''

Qurän is the greatest of the real blessings on Man, in order to study it deeply and take warning, to obtain prosperity and salvation.

Through Qurän, Man may learn much about himself and his duties, and his relation to the nature, and his obligations to his creator. Qurän is the best book of which Man can learn the most useful lessons about his physical and spiritual life.
